Frequently Asked Questions
Faculty Members
- I like the idea but am not sure I can get it going at my school. Should I still apply?
Yes, please do. If you’re affiliated with a school and have an honest dedication to helping your kids get and stay active we’d love to hear from you. If any specific factors may be blocking the program, please let us know. We may be able to provide support.
- How can I approach my school’s administration?
When bringing the idea of World Fit to your administration, you can highlight the benefits of the mission, our experience and that we are zero-cost.
The benefits of activity among school children, and the challenges faced by inactivity, are well documented and respected. World Fit Games can be an add on to an existing fitness initiative or as a tool integrated into an existing fitness curriculum.
World Fit is well established and has Olympic pedigree. We were founded by the US Olympians Association in 2006 and have reached over 100,000 students in over 100 schools.
World Fit is free to run! We don’t collect fees of any kind. We deliver our services thanks to the support of our sponsors.
- How do the participants log in?
Participants use the World Fit Games app. It can be accessed via a browser at https://app.worldfitactivities.org, or downloaded from the iOS or Google Play store (links coming soon!).
They can log in with their UniqueID. We encourage schools to use StudentIDs or Emails. If you’re unsure what your school is using to login, you can find it in the dashboard:
- Log into https://worldfitactivities.org
- Click Participants in the main menu
- The UniqueID column will show in the list
- Clicking on a student will show details, including a QR and copyable login link.
- How do faculty members log in?
Faculty members have access to our Dashboard: https://worldfitactivities.org/dashboard. They can run the games from there.
Faculty members are also Participants! They can use the “Participate” link in the Dashboard menu to log into the World Fit Games app and compete!
If a faculty member doesn’t have an account, another faculty member needs to invite them. This can be done via “Members” in the dashboard.
- What do I do if a student logs dishonestly?
Many students logged more activity than they have accomplished, often times maxing out the options. Posting these scores can hurt the integrity of the competition and may turn kids away.
To address this we’ve created our Suspected Activities workflow.
- A participant logs more than 4 hours of a given activity.
- They are warned that this will need to be reviewed.
- Instead of immediately getting credit for the activity, the leader of the student’s team and the schools Coordinator will be able to approve or deny the entry
If you’d like to change a score that’s already been logged, let us know. We can help.
